Eiffage, in collaboration with WOLFFKRAN Tower Cranes are working on a major infrastructure project in Norway, constructing additional sections of the E18 motorway between Langangen and Rugtvedt.

This project is part of a broader initiative to improve transportation connectivity in the region and involves complex engineering tasks, such as launching large steel beams to build new motorway bridges.
Given the scale and nature of the work, accurate wind speed monitoring is crucial for ensuring safety and maintaining smooth operations during these critical phases.
As of October 10th, 2024, the Wolffkrans Tower Crane has reached a height of 126 meters. With the jib length added at the top, the total height is 186 meters. Additionally, from the rock shelf down to sea level, the height increases by approximately 30 meters. The next climb will raise the crane by an additional 27 meters to its new height.

Eiffage and WOLFFKRAN commented:
"We’ve already installed a 2nd WINDCRANE unit at another Eiffage site once we had seen how easy it was to get the Wind speed and logging with our 1st WINDCRANE unit.
The team was eager to get it up and running. The process was seamless, and it immediately fulfilled our need for accurate wind speed readings, historical records and forecasts, which is essential for our work.
Launching large steel beams requires precise monitoring of wind speeds, everyone on or off-site can access the wind speed information whenever needed."

Frank Kvam (Teknisk leder - CTO - General and Operations Manager) from WOLFFKRAN Norway added:
‘We look forward to providing wind speed data for even more sites.
I believe that once more site managers become aware of how useful and reliable Windcrane is, we’ll start seeing even more WINDCRANE systems being used across Norwegian sites.’
