Adaptive Forecast
Adaptive Forecast compares the hindcast with measured wind data and updates the setup every hour, helping keep the forecast closer to the conditions at the crane.

Manual setup
With manual setup, users choose the two site settings by hand: the forecast height and terrain roughness that best represent their crane and site.
They can compare the hindcast with measured wind data, review the historical difference and adjust either setting whenever they want.

Teams can continue setting forecast height and terrain roughness themselves. Adaptive Forecast is simply another option for users who want Windcrane to select and review those settings automatically.
Two setup options
The supplied screenshots show both approaches. With manual setup, the user chooses the settings. With Adaptive Forecast, Windcrane selects the combination with the closest historical match. In this example, the historical difference moves from 2.2 m/s to 1.3 m/s.

Adaptive Forecast
Adaptive Forecast was created as an automatic alternative to manual setup.
When it is switched on, Windcrane compares the hindcast with the measured wind data, works out which forecast height and terrain roughness give the closest historical match, and applies those settings automatically.
Windcrane checks the result again every hour as new measured data becomes available.
